Ronco Machine & Rigging’s Engineering Department offers a full spectrum of involvement in design and engineering projects from basic fabrication designs to the creation of complete turn-key systems.
Our broad range of engineering services can take your job from concept to completion with our Turn-key and Design-Build programs tailored to your specific needs. Our hands-on engineers, designers, draftsmen and project managers allow us to quickly assemble the best team designed to handle your job from start to finish. These teams can be located at either your facility or an offsite location. All of our engineers, designers, draftsmen and project managers are particularly skilled in their profession with a focus on machine design as well as mechanical, electrical, civil, piping, process and structural systems. Our specialty is troubleshooting through evaluation to determine the most cost effective solution for your business.
CUSTOM MACHINE DESIGN – Ronco engineers and designers can design machinery or systems to specifically fit your needs. Our team designs new tissue converting machinery and has vast experience with machinery rebuilds and upgrades as well as system improvements. Our research and development team is dedicated to supplying the tissue converting industry with new products to enhance production and eliminate waste.
ELECTRICAL CONTROLS – Ronco Machine & Rigging offers complete electrical controls design, engineering, panel fabrication, and installation services. This includes new machinery designs utilizing the latest in products from the Allen Bradley family of controls. Our designs combine advanced servo motion control techniques, variable frequency drives and operator interfaces into reliable packages that meet or exceed current applicable safety standards.
Some of our current designs include:
- Dynamic Electronic Camming (JRT Diameter Control)
- Servo Indexing (Log Saw)
- On-the-fly Servo Controlled Cut-Off (Core Machine)
- Electronic Gearing (Servo Controlled Perf Roll)
ARC FLASH HAZARD ANALYSIS - An Arc Flash is an Electrical Hazard, which is a very dangerous condition such that contact or equipment failure can result in electrical shock, arc flash burn, thermal burn or blast. The safest way to eliminate the risk of electrical shock or an Arc Flash hazard is simply to de-energize the equipment. This is not always possible however, due to various maintenance issues, start up procedures, electrical testing and other operations requiring that equipment be kept running. An Arc Flash is a short circuit flow of electrical current between two phases, or from phase to ground, which occurs in the air between conductors. It can produce temperatures that exceed 35,000°F. Over 2,000 people a year are admitted to burn centers, and according to OSHA, 80% of electrical fatalities in the work place are Arc Flash related. Additionally, there are 1,000 people electrocuted in the work place every year. Not only is this a required OSHA certification, but more importantly, understanding and analyzing Arc Flash Hazards saves lives.
INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY – Infrared Thermography is a technology that uses electronic cameras and other devices to identify heat patterns and, in special cases, to measure temperatures. With specialized training and the information provided by these tools, we interpret and report on the results. This service can solve many costly maintenance problems in the work environment. For every increase of heat of one degree in your electrical component or electrical wire, the resistance of the electrical component or wire goes up 3%. Proactive predictive maintenance saves money.
PROJECT ENGINEERING – Ronco engineers can design any type of structure that you may require, including but not limited to platforms, catwalks, stairs, mezzanines, foundations, industrial buildings, equipment support frames, hoppers, bins, and machinery guards. Our team will also field measure your existing plant and/or machinery and produce accurate layouts and drawings in AutoCAD.
